Author Guidelines

1. Introduction

The Journal of Infrastructure and Sustainable Development (JISD) requires authors to format their papers appropriately for publication. Authors should strictly adhere to the instructions in the official template. The paper must be organized into several coherent chapters: 1) Introduction, 2) Methods, 3) Results, 4) Discussion, and 5) Conclusion.

2. Type of Paper

  • Research Article: These papers are fully documented accounts of original research.

  • Length: Manuscripts must be between 6 to 12 pages, including appendices and references.

  • Word Count: The total word count should be 5,000 – 6,000 words, excluding references.

3. How to Write the Title and Author Information

  • Title: Apply the "Title" style: 16-point Arial, title case, left-aligned, with 14-point spacing before and after the paragraph.

  • Authors: Names should be typed followed by the last name (e.g., First Author). Use 10-point Arial, left-aligned.

  • Affiliations: Use 8-point Times New Roman, left-aligned. Affiliations must contain: department, company/institute/university, city, and country in all capital characters.

  • Correspondence: Provide an institutional email for the corresponding author marked with an asterisk (*).

4. Formatting and Layout

  • Page Layout: Use A4 size with 20 mm margins on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right). Use a one-column layout for all sections.

  • Line Numbers: Authors must add line numbers beside the text throughout the manuscript.

  • Body Text: Use 11-point Times New Roman, justified alignment, and single line spacing (Normal style). Note: While section 1.3 mentions 10-point, the specific "Normal style" definition in section 1.11 mandates 11-point.

  • Headings:

    •  Heading 1 (Chapters): 11-point Arial, all capitals, automatic numbering, 6-point spacing before/after.

    • Heading 2 (Sections): 11-point Arial, title case, automatic numbering, 4-point spacing before/after.

  • Style Restrictions: Never use bold typeface except for mathematical vectors. Never underline any text. Use italics for journal/book titles, Latin terms, and mathematical variables.

5. Main Body Components

  • Abstract: Must be between 250 and 300 words. Use 8-point Times New Roman, justified, with 6-point spacing before and after. Avoid abbreviations and citations.

  • Keywords: Provide exactly 5 keywords separated by semicolons (;). Use 8-point Times New Roman.

  • Equations: Use an equation editor. Equations should be placed in a double-column table (equation left, number right). Number them consecutively.

  • Tables: Captions go above the table in 10-point Arial, left-aligned, with no full stop at the end. Use only horizontal rules.

  • Figures: Captions go underneath the figure in 11-point Times New Roman, left-aligned, ending with a full stop. Maximum of 8 figures with at least 300 dpi resolution.

6. Citations and References

  • Quantity: A minimum of 15 references is required.

  • Quality: References must be from primary sources (scientific journals). At least 50% must be published within the last 10 years.

  • Style: Use APA 7th Edition, listed in alphabetical order.

  • Management: Use of Mendeley is strongly suggested, though EndNote or Zotero are acceptable.

  • DOI: Include the DOI for all deposited datasets in the main manuscript.

7. Online Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted through the JISD Online Submission System at: https://journal.itk.ac.id/index.php/JISD/login.
