PENERAPAN ECOBRICK SEBAGAI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN DAN PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH DI TPQ AL-MANSHURIN KM.10

Abstract

This community service program aims to implement simple EcoBrick technology as both a learning
medium and a method for plastic waste management at TPQ Al-Manshurin Km.10, Balikpapan. The
main problems identified are the increasing volume of plastic waste and the low environmental
awareness among students and the surrounding community. Through educational and participatory
approaches, the program introduces the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) by conducting
socialization sessions, EcoBrick making workshops, and integrating the practice into learning activities.
The program is expected to enhance students’ awareness and skills in waste management, produce
functional EcoBrick products such as flower pots and study benches, and foster an environmentally
friendly culture within the TPQ environment. Additionally, this activity will produce several outputs,
including a scientific article, a documentary video, and participation in a national seminar. Thus, the
implementation of EcoBrick not only provides a practical solution for waste management but also serves
as an effective educational medium to cultivate environmental awareness and responsibility among
young learners.
