PENGEMBANGAN FASILITAS DI LEMBAGA KESEJAHTERAAN SOSIAL ANAK (LKSA) TARBIYATUL UMMAH GUNA MENINGKATKAN KENYAMANAN
Abstract
The Community Service Program (KKN) conducted at the Child Social Welfare Institution (LKSA) Tarbiyatul Ummah aimed to improve the comfort, safety, and accessibility of the orphanage environment through the development of facilities based on local needs. The main issues faced by the institution, such as the lack of street lighting, limited location identity, and inadequate green open space, were addressed using a collaborative and participatory approach. Key activities included the installation of solar-powered street lights at five strategic points, the creation and installation of a location name sign, and the planting of productive trees. In addition, social and educational activities were held with the children to foster positive interactions and strengthen emotional bonds. The results of the program showed significant improvements in location visibility, nighttime safety, environmental quality, and social relationships. This program demonstrates that the active involvement of students in community service can produce sustainable impacts and effectively empower social institutions.
