Development of Tourist Attractions with Sustainable Facilities through the Installation of Solar Power Plant and Eco-Friendly Facility Innovations

Celosia Garden Park in East Balikpapan is a newly emerging tourist destination with great potential. However, 80% of its visitors have expressed concerns regarding insufficient lighting, limited sanitation facilities, the lack of navigation aids within the park, and inadequate measures to protect plants from pests. These issues PMMD initiated by Institut Teknologi Kalimantan, which implemented four sustainability-based initiatives. This program aims to provide a tangible contribution through collaborative and practical solutions for Celosia Garden Park, with a particular focus on renewable energy and waste management.The stages of implementation included the installation of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS), the production of botanical pesticides made from onion peel waste, the design and installation of site maps, and the provision of recycling bins. This activity successfully improved visitor comfort, interest in renewable energy, and community participation in park management by 20%, based on questionnaire results distributed to visitors and park managers, as the program made a tangible contribution to the development of sustainable tourism
