Drainage System Revitalization Through Community Empowerment: Flood Mitigation in Karang Joang Subdistrict, North Balikpapan

Abstract

The community service program focuses on flood mitigation at Jalan Batu Ratna KM 11. The floods result from trash and sedimentation obstructing drainage flow. Analysis revealed a lack of post-construction attention by managers and a low community environmental awareness. The "Drainage and River Function Revitalization" program was proposed to clean and maintain the drainage system. Through this initiative, it is hoped that community awareness of a clean environment will increase and flood risks will decrease. Activities include surveys, cleaning interventions, and community outreach. Outputs include awareness promotional materials and cleaning tools provided to the community.
