Abstract

Indonesia has a long coastline, generating a significant volume of driftwood waste on many shores, including Serang Beach in Blitar Regency, East Java, which served as the observation site for this community service activity. This research aims to explore and utilize coastal driftwood waste as the main material in designing women's jewelry. Driftwood was selected due to its unique characteristics, such as natural texture, light weight, and color aesthetic formed either naturally or through additional treatment. The resulting designs integrate the natural character of the wood with a modern, elegant aesthetic. The study was conducted through material study and exploration, analysis of lifestyle trends and visual preferences of Generation X women, and a storytelling approach to enhance the jewelry's symbolic value. The findings of this research are expected to broaden the application of coastal driftwood waste into the creative industry and raise public awareness about the potential use of waste materials as an innovative solution for value-added products.
