The issue of household waste management, particularly plastic waste and used cooking oil, remains a major challenge in urban areas. These types of waste are often discarded without proper treatment, causing environmental pollution. This community service program aimed to enhance the awareness, knowledge, and skills of residents in RT 54 KM 11, Karang Joang, Balikpapan Utara, in transforming waste materials into economically valuable products through two innovations: keychains made from recycled plastic and aromatherapy candles produced from used cooking oil. The program was implemented using a participatory approach that directly involved community members through several stages, including site surveys, environmental awareness campaigns, material collection and sorting, product-making training, and entrepreneurship assistance. The results showed that participants were highly enthusiastic and actively engaged throughout the activities. The products created demonstrated aesthetic value and market potential, indicating the feasibility of developing small-scale home-based businesses. This program not only supports sustainable waste management but also contributes to local economic empowerment and promotes the implementation of a circular economy at the community level.
