The Jannatul Firdaus Islamic Boarding School in Penajam faces a clean water problem characterized by high acidity levels (low pH), which pose potential health risks and fail to meet water quality standards. Water is used daily by all residents of the boarding school, yet it has not undergone adequate filtration. To address this issue, a multilayer water filtration method was applied, consisting primarily of silica sand, activated carbon, manganese, ferolite, and gravel as filter media. This method aims to neutralize pH levels while removing impurities and contaminants. The expected outcome of the evaluation indicates an improvement in water quality, with pH values approaching neutral and enhanced clarity. Therefore, the use of multilayer filtration is considered effective in improving water quality and can be implemented as an appropriate solution in similar environments.
