Traditional markets play an important role in driving the local economy, yet they currently face serious challenges due to the rapid growth of modern markets and digitalization. Bangun Reksa Market in North Balikpapan serves as a concrete example of this condition, as it experiences limitations in terms of public facilities, digital promotion, and cleanliness. This community service program aims to enhance the market’s competitiveness through community empowerment and digitalization approaches. The implementation methods include observation, discussions with partners, adding the market’s location to Google Maps, rebranding the market’s appearance, training on compost production from organic waste, and improving access to the market’s toilets. The results show an increase in market stakeholders’ awareness of the importance of digital promotion and environmental management. Adding the market to Google Maps successfully expanded its information reach, while the compost training encouraged the productive use of waste. This program demonstrates that simple yet well-targeted interventions can create a positive impact on sustainable local economic empowerment.
