PEMASANGAN PENERANGAN JALAN UMUM TENAGA SURYA (PJU-TS) DAN PELATIHAN PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH MINYAK JELANTAH MENJADI SABUN PADAT DI LINGKUNGAN RT. 32 KELURAHAN KARANG JATI
Abstract
This community service activity was motivated by the problem of limited street lighting and suboptimal management of household waste, especially used cooking oil, in the RT.32 Karang Jati Village area. The lack of street lighting (PJU) has an impact on disrupting the comfort and safety of residents when doing activities at night. On the other hand, used cooking oil is often disposed of carelessly so that it has the potential to pollute the environment. The solution offered is to install Solar Street Lighting (PJU-TS) based on renewable energy and training in making solid soap from used cooking oil. The implementation method includes location surveys, technical planning, installation of PJU-TS lamps at two strategic points, and training in managing used cooking oil accompanied by direct practice and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The results of the activity showed that the installation of PJU-TS improved lighting and residents' sense of security, while training in utilizing used cooking oil into solid soap succeeded in increasing community knowledge and skills in waste management. The activities that have been carried out are expected to encourage residents' independence in creating a safe, clean, and sustainable environment.
