Abstract

Borneo Horse Stable, located in North Balikpapan, has great potential as an educational and recreational tourism destination. However, it faces several challenges such as damaged access due to landslides, lack of directional signage, low public knowledge about horse riding, and limited income sources from its livestock activities. These issues served as the main reasons for choosing this location as the focus of the Student Village Service Program (PMMD). The problem-solving methods included: (1) installing informative directional signs at strategic points to help visitors navigate the area easily, (2) conducting an educational horse-riding program for children to increase their knowledge and interest in horse care and safety, and (3) producing merchandise such as hats and accessories to enhance income and visitor engagement. The program successfully improved visitor comfort, increased children's understanding of horse riding, and boosted enthusiasm for tourism products. In conclusion, the implemented solutions not only addressed the key problems but also supported the sustainable development of Borneo Stable Horse as a tourist destination while contributing to the local community’s economy.
